Ayurvedic and Chinese are the two main divisions of herbal medications. Ayurvedic Herbalism originated in ancient Greece and Rome. Its popularity soon spread throughout the rest of the East, and later on in the West. Chinese Herbalism has been around for thousands of years now, and has since been a widely-accepted form of a natural herbal remedy by most people these days.

A natural herbal remedy is not only popular worldwide because of its effectiveness in restoring and preserving health, but also known to produce no side effects. It is a great alternative for modern-day medications.

For instance, Germany-approved St. John's Wort is now a treatment option for people who suffer from major depression. The Aloe Vera plant, another natural herbal remedy, contains a gel in its leaves known to be effective for minor burns, cuts, abrasions and rashes. That is why many cosmetics and skin care products nowadays use Aloe Vera as one of their main ingredients. The gel of the plant is also effective for those suffering from constipation.

People suffering from various problems with their circulatory and nervous systems are benefiting from Ginkgo Biloba. This plant is popular for the treatment of problems such as migraine, dizziness, depression, confusion, as well as mental deterioration.
